Here’s another scam site, you can almost identify the site’s content is identical; the layout. Definitely avoid, and don’t purchase. If you did, ask for a refund or open a dispute on PayPal.
A lot of my friends have been asking me to jailbreak their iPhones either custom ringtones or something else. I wonder why they want to anyway, unless they want to download free apps, custom themes, additional tweaks and so on.
I managed to come up as many notes as I can about the jailbreak, whether it’s worth to jailbreak your iDevice or not. Okay, here we go.
Unjailbreak iDevice – You can have custom ringtones, this can be done via a ringtone software or app (Check AppStore) and sync through iTunes. This may take a while but I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it.
Jailbreak iDevice – There are a few methods on how to add custom ringtones.
Go into Cydia >> Sections >> Ringtones >> [Choose a ringtone] >> [Tap on] Install >> [Tap on] Confirm >> [Black Screen, downloading ringtone from Internet. Tap on] Return to Cydia.
[Tap on] Home Screen >> Settings >> Sounds >> Ringtone >> [Scroll down until you see your downloaded ringtone]
Often ringtones will need to be enabled via Winterboard
If you have downloaded/converted ringtones on your computer, you can drag and drop to your ringtones folder.

I have done a full restore on my iPhone 3GS as it was crashing all the time, it must be one of the plugins I’ve installed. Even though there are no issues with the 3GS I still got to restore it. When you already have jailbroken your iPhone, it’s highly recommended to do a full restore again for the new firmware and jailbreak.
At the moment I have tested using Vodafone sim card, will try the Orange once my sister is back from the dentist. Then I will give you an update later today.
Do you want custom ringtones for your iPhone? Default ringtones sound dull, why not have your favourite artist on your iPhone today. Your iPhone must be jailbroken to use this feature (there is an alternative way, will be posting a guide up very soon), and you can use your existing songs for your ringtone.
1) Go to Cydia and Search for Ringtones3
2) Install the app
3) You should see the app on your Home Screen. Tap on it.
4) A picture of a guitar is displayed, wait a few moment.
5) Tap on Start Converting
6) List of your playlists, albums, songs on the page. Select your chosen song.
7) You will have 2 options, for quick and easy process. Tap on Quick Conversion.
8) Wait a minute or two.
9) Upon completion, go to Home Screen.
10) Settings >>> Sounds >>> Ringtone
11) Select your converted ringtone as your default ringtone.
Note: This plugin does not work on the latest firmware iOS4
Look at this website, another one which I saw on my facebook. Someone recommend this site for unlocks and jailbreaks and it actually worked on him. There are no paid jailbreaks however there is a small fee to unlock your iPhone done by a mobile specialist or via your mobile network provider. Other than that if you are patience you can wait until the free iPhone unlock to release. Which it will be available tomorrow, or some time this week.
Do not pay unlocks/jailbreaks via IphoneUnlocking.com, save your cash for free unlocks/jailbreaks. Respect the creators work.
This question has been on various websites, people asking whether to jailbreak or not. Is it worth it though? I really want to jailbreak my iPhone 4, I need the software now!
The iPhone 4 has nearly everything you want categories (storing over 2000 apps), multi-tasking (do more than 1 task), facetime (video calling), HD Video Recording and so on. Apple has added so many improvements to the software it is not required to jailbreak your iPhone 4. Unless you want to customize the theme, add third-party apps, plugins, tweaks, cracked apps (which I do not approve).
- Add third-party apps
- Theme Customization
- Add Plugins, Tweaks
- Access root, files, modify
- Install cracked apps
- Most apps do not work properly with your iPhone/firmware
- New iTunes software, cannot sync
- Sync is disallowed in iTunes
- If jailbreak messes up your iPhone, you got to restore everything on your iPhone. You can restore back to 3.1.3 or 4.0 if you have saved your SHSH blobs.
- Awaiting new jailbreak software
Once I receive my iPhone 4 I won’t jailbreak it, keep it original. I’ll keep posting jailbreaking tips using my iPod Touch 3G.
UnlockIphoneUsa.com is a website providing unlocks and jailbreaks to your iPhone, can unlock your iPhone even you have the latest firmware. They are selling $24.99 for the software to unlock our iPhones plus jailbreaking it. Everyone thinks these kind of sites are trusted and worth to buy, I don’t think so. I already experienced their service before and to be honest with you, it is very poor.
I paid them via PayPal, they sent me a link to view the unlocks and the jailbreaking methods. The page displays the current unlocks/jailbreaks including Blackra1n which is free to use, no need to pay unless you want to donate to the creator of the software. UnlockIphoneUsa.com is just redistributing their software and resell it for cash, that is a hoax. Why would you pay for a jailbreak when you can use it for free??? I am telling you to avoid all of these unlocking and jailbreaking websites, you shouldn’t be browsing them at all.
Few hours later that day I emailed their support and they did not reply to my emails, so I opened a dispute to get my funds back. First they asked me why did I opened a dispute, then onto “We provide good unlocks and jailbreaks, we won’t disappoint you.” I told them I want an immediate refund as the description on their site is not accurate enough, they are reselling the creators’ software without permission.
People behind these sites must be immature, they think they can get a way with this. But in the end customers will start complaining about their service and support, lacking of unlocks and jailbreaks.
If you are like me then you are doing the right thing. Open a dispute and get your money back. Never trust them.
Here’s a list of sites that you should highly avoid to purchase jailbreaks and unlocks. All of these sites are using the iPhone hackers’ work. They have no permission in any way to redistribute their software or resell them for cash.
There are many on the web, these sites are the main ones which I found in top results.
Wow! Jailbreaking is legal, this article explains everything but still it voids the customer’s warranty. Apple thinks that we should not jailbreak as it could damage the iDevices resources. That is true to some folks out there who have no experience with jailbreak software or iDevices. The thing is we can modify the iDevice into a better device such as SBSettings, custom ringtones, colour themes, using your iPhone as wifi hotspot and etc.
If you still think jailbreaking is not a very good idea, then don’t jailbreak your iDevice. Keep it original.
Has this ever happen to you before? The Apple logo stays on your screen for longer than 30 minutes, tried to load in recovery mode and failed?
Basically you cannot do anything else to the iPhone unless you do a full restore to the device. The iPhone itself has a software problem, this happens when you have jailbreaked your iPhone, which my friend’s iPhone went mad earlier on. Apple logo stayed on the device for an hour, then it restart itself, Apple logo stayed on for another 30 mins, and restart the device again.
To resolve this issue you can either take it to your Apple store and ask them to fix it. Or do a full restore which mean no jailbreaking depends the availability of the jailbreak software. I done a full restore on my friend’s iPhone, and it took 45 mins to download and restore the device. iPhone 3G takes quite a long time to restore, no wonder they made a 3GS.
If the Apple logo stays on the device and you have tried restoring and it does not help. Or the logo does not fade away. I advised you to take it to your Apple store and they will be happy to assist you.
