Two days ago I came across a website membersupply.com listing genuine wholesalers and distributors selling original electronics such as iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Xbox, PS3 and so on. I mean why I go ahead and pay the membership and see whether I get any decent wholesalers.
Once I have the access to their member’s area you cannot believe what’s in there. Only a small number of websites listed for each category I know there are not many authorized sellers out there, but I paid them $30 so I expect something good. Most sites they listed on the page sell replica products, and they said “genuine and original products”. That’s just wrong, don’t you think so. I have managed to click every single link on the page, only a small number are available and the rest are offline due to unknown reasons. Other than that I just do not think it is worth to buy this membership.
I hope I can get my money back as this is just ridiculous. Good luck to me!
My 3 iDevices are all jailbroken and I love using Cydia to install 3rd party apps and tweaks. As for an original iDevice it cannot install 3rd party apps unless you jailbreak it. I would love to see that Apple can implement more changes to the software such as infinitie apps for categories, theme customization or maybe a queue feature for AppStore. Everytime I scrolled down to 76th app, starts downloading it and installed. Going back to AppStore, and I had to scroll all the way down again. I don’t mind doing that again, but it’s time consuming. I like the way how Cydia manage their packages, confirm the package you want to download, set it queue list and after you have managed to find what you want. Hit confirm to install all packages onto your iDevice.
Let’s hope that Apple will make changes to the software very soon.
I have been super busy lately, study and work at the same time. Man I need a vacation now, I want to see my beautiful mrs, she’s waiting for me now. First I need to save up some cash then I’ll be seeing her again.
I know Apple has released a few gadgets over the past weeks iPod Nano 6th Gen, iPod Shuffle, iPod Touch 4th Gen, what’s next a second generation iPad??? I do think the iPod Nano 6th Gen is a quite a nice design, but I wouldn’t go for it if you already own an iPod Nano. Save it for other gadgets instead. No point getting the iPod Touch 4th Gen if you have the iPhone 4. Unless you don’t have an iPhone 4, you can go ahead and get it. iPhone 4 is worth getting than the iPod Touch 4th Gen.
Finally! After posting tweets so many days I got my hands on a MacBook Pro 15-inch. I was considering a 17-inch but after I taken it out the Mac it was huge, same size as my Logitech keyboard
I’ll just stick with my 15-inch instead, it’s big enough for my work. I tend to use this MacBook for graphics design and video editing.
First impression of a MacBook Pro, very stylish, cool gadget to keep, and magnificent touch. I love the keyboard, the optical drive, the screen is brilliant. Now I definitely cherish this beast well, taking extra care of it.
Will post an update this week on my MacBook Pro.
Unlock Codes 2u is a paid website providing you techniques how to unlock your mobile handset. All you need to do is to enter your IMEI (Enter *#06# on your mobile) 15 digits into the box. Then you will be directed to page which displays your mobile handset model, and you have to choose your network. The price for this service is £3.99 which I do think they should charge it for free.
After payment they’ll send a list of instructions how to unlock your mobile handset. Most people think they have the solution to unlock, or should I say “They are making money from posting free instructions which are already available on many websites.”
I do not think this service is worth £3.99, a simple 5 methods which we can do for free without the need of paying them the money. I am more than welcome to post the list of unlock methods on my blog, send me an email to chinwei@live.co.uk and I’ll send it straight away. All the instructions there are pointless anyway, but worth reading it if you want to unlock your mobile device.
Just to prove that I am telling the truth, I have uploaded a few screenshots of my transaction.
Avoid using this website for mobile unlocks. Search for free unlock instructions on the net, no need to pay.
I have tested an iPhone 3G (4.0.1) last week, from one task to another. It seems that every task that you want to do is very slow indeed especially accessing via AppStore. It took me longer than 10 minutes to access the Buy Now page, even I have a 19Mbit connection speed still slow. Tried comparing with another 3G running 3.1.3, his phone is much more faster.
Slide to unlock the device is slower by 1-2 second(s), accessing settings, making a phone call is so frustrating. You got to wait at least a few seconds for it to load.
If you own an iPhone 3G avoid updating to iOS4, it will slow down your iPhone dramatically. Wait until Apple has found a solution to this issue then update. I will write a post regarding to this once its release.
I will post a video this week and let you know the results.
This question has been on various websites, people asking whether to jailbreak or not. Is it worth it though? I really want to jailbreak my iPhone 4, I need the software now!
The iPhone 4 has nearly everything you want categories (storing over 2000 apps), multi-tasking (do more than 1 task), facetime (video calling), HD Video Recording and so on. Apple has added so many improvements to the software it is not required to jailbreak your iPhone 4. Unless you want to customize the theme, add third-party apps, plugins, tweaks, cracked apps (which I do not approve).
Advantages
- Add third-party apps
- Theme Customization
- Add Plugins, Tweaks
- Access root, files, modify
- Install cracked apps
Disadvantages
- Most apps do not work properly with your iPhone/firmware
- New iTunes software, cannot sync
- Sync is disallowed in iTunes
- If jailbreak messes up your iPhone, you got to restore everything on your iPhone. You can restore back to 3.1.3 or 4.0 if you have saved your SHSH blobs.
- Awaiting new jailbreak software
Once I receive my iPhone 4 I won’t jailbreak it, keep it original. I’ll keep posting jailbreaking tips using my iPod Touch 3G.
People who currently own an iPhone 4 are eligible to receive a free bumper from Apple. Steve Jobs, what a nice thing to do. Giving out free bumper to every user in the world just to make us happy. By using the bumper it will prevent the signal dropping, too bad the bumper only wraps around the design structure base.
Once I get my free bumper I’m going to sell it on eBay and find a better casing on the net. I prefer my casing to cover the back of the iPhone plus sides. If you ever thought of getting a free iPhone 4, try this wonderful site.
I hope the next version of the iPad should have a selection of colours to choose from, such as white, blue, purple, green, orange. I know some websites sell coloured iPads with a higher price, and that’s only the 1st generation. Would there be a market for the coloured iPads in the future? Do Apple care about the colour of the device or the functions of the iPad?
Since the iPad is featured as a tablet PC they should add a sound button, which enable/disable the sound of the device. Most users probably want this function on their iPads, rather than pressing hardly on their volume button.
Wow! Jailbreaking is legal, this article explains everything but still it voids the customer’s warranty. Apple thinks that we should not jailbreak as it could damage the iDevices resources. That is true to some folks out there who have no experience with jailbreak software or iDevices. The thing is we can modify the iDevice into a better device such as SBSettings, custom ringtones, colour themes, using your iPhone as wifi hotspot and etc.
If you still think jailbreaking is not a very good idea, then don’t jailbreak your iDevice. Keep it original.
